*The Otavalo cultural tour is a wonderful way to discover the famous artesian indigenous markets in Ecuador. The tour begins with a scenic drive north of Quito through the Sierra highlands. The waterfalls of Peguche will be the first stop.  It is a historical place because of its usage for special baths before the Inti Raymi (Sun Holiday) parties.  It's about one and a half hours from Otavalo.

 Next, we will continue to the famous Otavalo market where you have free time to explore and purchase local handicrafts. Our professional guide will provide an explanation on the indigenous people of this area, such as the Quitu-Cara and other Pre-Incan groups and interesting information on the town. 

After exploring the markets we continue to the town of Cotacachi for an enjoyable lunch at Restaurante La Marquesa and then onward to the beautiful Laguna Cuicocha ($1).

Our final stop will be in Cayambe where we are able to taste and learn about the town’s famous bizcochos, or local biscuits.  One of the most beautiful scenaries you`ll be able to admire is from El Lechero, where  we will have a panoramic view of Otavalo and Lago San Pablo.
