*Our 3-day horseback riding tour is an impressive and memorable way to experience the famous Cotopaxi National Park. Before we start our journey, we begin with instruction in a safe enclosure with the help of an experienced guide to allow riders to gain confidence with the horses. We only offer the best quality in horses which are well-trained and are ideal for novice to expert riders. The first day is spent riding through local farms toward the magnificent Cotopaxi where we have striking views of Corazon, Illinizas and Ruminaui. Inside Cotopaxi Park, we make a wide circle around the volcanoes offering us firsthand views of the flora, fauna and eco system at high altitude. We have the opportunity to see wild horses, llamas, eagles, condors and wild cattle, all which roam freely within the Park boundaries. The first night we make camp under the stars and cook on an open camp fire. The second day we ride and visit Lake Limpiopungo in the flat lands of Cotopaxi. This experience is highly recommended for nature lovers wanting to experience the true way of life in the open Andean mountains. We make camp on the second night at the Tambopaxi Hostel where we camp in the hostel grounds and have access to their facilities. The final day passes through the small country town of Machachi on return to our hacienda  . This tour covers 30km each day and is therefore recommended for riders who have experience.

*We strongly recommend you rent chaps to protect your legs from either dirt or damage. You can hire them for an extra price of $5 a day, please notify the staff if you wish to rent these. We supply helmets free of charge.

*The tour begins at approx. 9:00 am with brekfast at our hacienda your mountain acclimatization base. Here you have the choice between continental, muesli, pancakes and French toast. The price is $3.

*It is important that you have current travel insurance. Please inform us of any medical problems you have.

*We put a lot of effort in organizing the tour, therefore cancellations require 24hrs notice. If you wish to cancel we will give a 50% refund.  Any shorter notice cancellations will not be refunded.

Day 1

• 09:00 AM – Breakfast at (optional)
• 10:00 AM – Begin Riding Instruction (Enclosed Arena)
• 11:00 AM – Ride along country trails towards Cotopaxi National Park
• 12:30 PM – Lunch
• 13:30 PM – Continue riding, keeping an eye out for wildlife
• 16:30 PM – Arrive at camp site beneath Cotopaxi Volcano—settle in
• 18:00 PM – Dinner around campfire—stories, legends, singing, etc.

Day 2

• 08:00 AM – Wake up—enjoy campfire breakfast  
• 10:00 AM – Ride trails near Ruminahui
• 12:00 PM – Lunch
• 15:00 PM – Visit Lake Limpiopungo
• 17:00 PM – Arrive at Tambopaxi Hostel, set-up camp, showers
• 18:00 PM – Dinner in the hostel, chat with other travellers

Day 3

•  08:00 AM – Wake up—enjoy campfire breakfast  
•  09:00 AM – Ride trails near native communities
• 12:00 PM – Lunch
• 13:00 PM – Return trail through Machachi
• 17:00 PM – Arrive at for hot coffee/tea and chocolate cake
• 17:30 PM – Stay at  or return to Quito (not included)

Included in package: Experienced guide, instructional lesson, 3xlunch,2xdinner,2xbreakfast, 2xnight camping all equipment. Note: The Cotopaxi National Park entrance fee is $10, this is not included in the tour price.
