This tour is the ultimate mountaineering experience in Ecuador! Over a period of 5 days you will climb 3 of the tallest volcanoes in the Avenue: Iliniza Norte, Cotopaxi and finally the mighty Chimborazo- giving you a chance to break 6,000 meters. This program is developed to educate and instruct people in high altitude climbing of 5000-6000 meters, including preparation of climbing glaciers with the ice-climbing program. These climbs offer spectacular and unsurpassed views of Ecuador and the Avenue of Volcanoes below. Due to the demanding and physical nature of this program, we require that you be in good physical condition and acclimatized prior to commencement.

Day One: Ilinizas Norte 5126m (16,800ft)

A scrumptuous breakfast of your choice will be served in preparation for your first climb.

We will depart by car to the base of Illinizas
|

The first climb begins to the rugged peaks of the Illinizas, taking a break for an energy packed lunch and of course to take in the magnificent views these mountains provide!

Upon returning to Papagayo you will be rewarded with a delicious slice of cake and a steaming cup of coffee or tea.

Day Two: Cotopaxi Preparations

A giant breakfast of your choice will be served bright and early in preparation for your day.

Depart for Cotopaxi National Park. Note- the Cotopaxi National Park fee of $10 is NOT included.

And so begins your final preparations for the ultimate adventure ahead! You and your professional guide will spend the afternoon going over the proper usage of all the equipment (ropes, crampons etc.) you will need for your climb. Additionally, important safety procedures will be discussed.

A special high-altitude preparation dinner & tea will be served at the Jose Rivas Refuge 4800m. You will then be encouraged to get some rest in preparation of your climb.

Day Three: The Climb COTOPAXI 5897m (19,300ft)

On the stroke of midnight you will commence your climb, battling the elements up Cotopaxi!

Depending on your climbing experience, you can expect to arrive at the Summit of Cotopaxi for a magnificent display of colors as the morning sun begins to flood the sky.

By mid morning you should be back at the Refuge, where you can take a well earned break!

Return to PapaGayo for lunch and an afternoon of rest

Day Four: Chimborazo Preparations

Day Five: The Climb CHIMBORAZO 6310m (20,700ft)

Dinner can be purchased at PapaGayo restaurant whilst staying at the hosteria.

Please note that due to unforeseen circumstances (such as weather conditions or health risks), there may be a chance that you will be unable to reach the all of the summits. That being said however, we do promise not only a fantastic but unforgettable experience, complete with fully qualified and highly experienced guides, fresh and hearty meals, lots of laughter, and of course good cold beers!

We put a lot of effort in organizing the tour, therefore cancellations require 24hrs notice. If you wish to cancel we will give a 50% refund. Any shorter notice cancellations will not be refunded.
Please note tips for our guides are not included in the price. If you enjoyed your trip, a tip of around 10% would be greatly appreciated.
