*Our 2 day horseback riding tour is a unique way to experience the atmosphere of the Andes and gain views of the surrounding volcanoes. We offer the best quality in horses which are well-trained and are ideal for novice to expert riders. The tour begins with instruction in a safe enclosure with the help of an experienced guide to allow riders to gain confidence with the horses. The first day is spent trekking along the trails towards the magnificent Illinizas volcanoes led by our professional native guide. The overnight camp is close to the famous Milagro hot springs where dinner is prepared around a roaring campfire. In the morning, after a hearty breakfast, guests can relax their muscles in the hot springs before continuing on the ride through the fascinating Indian communities in the area of ‘Kunu-Yacu’. After lunch, the ride continues with spectacular views of Cotopaxi volcano on the return to our hacienda .  This tour covers 40km each day and is therefore recommended for experienced riders.

*We strongly recommend you rent chaps to protect your legs from either dirt or damage. You can rent them for an extra price of $5 a day, please notify the staff if you wish to rent these. We supply helmets free of charge.

*The tour begins at approx. 9:00 am with breakfast at our hacienda  your mountain acclimatization base. Here you have the choice between continental, muesli, pancakes and French toast. The price is $3.

*It is important that you have current travel insurance. Please inform us of any medical problems you have.

*We put a lot of effort in organizing the tour, therefore cancellations require 24hrs notice. If you wish to cancel we will give a 50% refund.  Any shorter notice cancellations will not be refunded.

Day 1

• 09:00 AM – Breakfast at (optional)
• 10:00 AM – Begin Riding Instruction (Enclosed Arena)
• 11:00 AM – Ride along railroad tracks towards Ilinizas volcanoes
• 12:30 PM – Lunch
• 13:30 PM – Continue Ride
• 16:30 PM – Arrive at Camp Site—settle in
• 18:00 PM – Dinner around campfire—stories, legends, singing, etc.

Day 2

•   8:00 AM – Wake up—enjoy campfire breakfast  
•   9:00 AM – Visit Milagro Hot Springs
• 10:30 AM – Ride trails near Ilinizas and local communities
• 12:00 PM – Lunch
• 13:00 PM – Continue return trail
• 17:00 PM – Arrive at  for hot coffee/tea and chocolate cake
• 17:30 PM – Stay at or return to Quito (not included)
