* This full day cultural tour begins with a visit to a local indigenous
market at Saquilisili or a historic church in Pujili (Thursday/Sunday). The
drive to Laguna Quilotoa displays a beautiful view of the Andean mountains,
passing the ancient canyon of Zimbahua and many indigenous towns and farmlands.
Before lunch we visit a local aboriginal home where you have the opportunity to
interact with the inhabitants and maybe learn some Quichua. The tour includes a
steep hike down into the Laguna Quilotoa; a sparkling emerald lake inside the
extinct volcano crater. The return hike takes 1 hour, or there is an option of
renting a mule for $5.
*The tour
leaves at 7:00am in at Coffee & Toffee and passes by our hacienda   where you may purchase breakfast.
You can choose between continental, muzli, pancakes and French toast. The price
is $3.
*The
park entrance fee is included
in the price.
*The
weather in the area of the Laguna is unpredictable so please bring warm and
waterproof clothing. It is important that you are well prepared for 3800m, so
we recommend acclimatizing at least one day around
3000m’.
*It
is important that you have current travel insurance. Please inform us of
any medical problems you have.
*We
put a lot of effort in organizing the tour, therefore cancellations require
24hrs notice. If you wish to cancel we will give a 50% refund. Any shorter notice cancellations will not
be refunded.
